Design Thinking

Driven by a passion for both visual clarity and practical usability, I’ve taken on design-related tasks in almost every professional role and in everyday life. My approach is shaped by design thinking principles, focusing on real user needs, reducing complexity, and creating purposeful, intuitive solutions.

Here are a few examples.
Cycable
In 2024, as part of the final team project at Constructor Academy’s Full-Stack Bootcamp, I not only served as tech lead and developer, but also created the UX/UI. Figma was used to design both desktop and mobile layouts, all prototyped overnight.
I also prepared the project presentation using Google Slides for the final demo.

The emblem emerged as a combination of a leaf, symbolizing sustainability, and a location pin, marking places.
From Clutter to Clarity
In 2023, after moving to Germany, I redesigned the notices in the temporary housing where I lived. The goal was twofold: to make the information easier to understand and to reduce the overall volume and visual clutter.

I conducted an analysis of the existing setup, held brief interviews with residents, and prepared a presentation for the administration accompanied by redesigned notices.
The new designs were created using Canva.
They follow a consistent grid structure, incorporating color-coded themes and visual elements to facilitate quick topic recognition. Following implementation, the volume of information displayed on the walls was reduced by half and received positive feedback from both residents and the administration.
Telegram stickers
As a mental warm-up and a way to support cycling community-building, I created a set of Telegram stickers using AI digital illustration tools, blending well-known works of art with contemporary themes from urbanism and cycling culture, playfully reinterpreting both the original contexts and present-day realities.
Snow-Inspired Interface
In 2023, I redesigned the website of the international Winter Cycling Federation. The updated design adopts a lighter, more spacious layout to improve readability and user engagement, with a modern aesthetic optimized for both desktop and mobile use.
The site was built using Tilda. Rounded typefaces were chosen to subtly evoke the softness of snow ☃️.
Coord Group
An example of freelance web design work: a single-page website for the event agency Coord Group, delivered in 2021.
Infographics for Advocacy
Since 2015, I have created infographics for various campaigns and research projects by the Russian cycling NGO Let’s bike it!, using Figma to present data in a clear and engaging visual format. Here are a few of them.
Bike to Work Posters
In 2016, as part of the national Bike to Work campaign, I developed a visual concept centered on widely recognized characters, each symbolizing a different profession. A series of playful poster designs was created under the slogan "It doesn’t matter what your job is — you can bike to work." The illustrations were executed by a local artist based on the concept, and the campaign visuals quickly gained traction and received positive feedback from a broad audience.
Magazine Redesign
As editor-in-chief of a student magazine, I also led a complete redesign — my first hands-on experience with professional tools like InDesign. It was a crash course in typography, layout grids, and other fundamentals that apply across both print and digital design.
